In the framework of the Scissor Project, RADIO6ENSE is developing, together with national and international partners, a solution for integrated monitoring of critical infrastructures, subject to cyber-attacks (http://www.radio6ense.com/company/scissor-project).
In such a system, RADIO6ENSE is responsible for the environmental sensing sub-system, assigned to monitor different parameters (light, humidity, access,..) inside a medium-voltage cabin of an electricity provider (SEA, partner in the Scissor project).
RADIO6ENSE wireless sensing solution consists of T-Tags (temperature sensing tags), Wearable-Tags (for access control) and the new RADIOBoard Sensing Platform, a flexible platform able to be adapted easily in order to monitor different parameters (and used in Scissor to monitor light and humidity). All wireless sensors are commanded by the RADIOSCAN RFID reader and software, able to provide wireless energy to the sensors and collect their information, as well as process them, providing the final user with useful aggregated information about the status of the different sensors.
Thanks to the work done in the Scissor project and also to the special effort to make the system easily adaptable, the network architecture and the wireless sensors can be successfully employed in different scenarios. Thanks to such flexibility, this technology has been ported also to other sectors, such as civil engineering, where the RADIO6ENSE wireless sensing system is now being used to monitor concrete maturation.
The usefulness and innovative approach of RADIO6ENSE solutions have been recognized at the ICTA (Italian Concrete Technology Award – http://www.icta.it/), where the newest and most promising technologies in the field of concrete manufacturing and processing have been awarded in November 2016.
For its “Passive temperature tag solution for concrete maturation monitoring”, RADIO6ENSE has been awarded with the “Product Innovation Award 2016”, which was collected by Ing. Sara Amendola on behalf of the whole RADIO6ENSE team during the Gala Dinner of the ICTA.
The whole RADIO6ENSE team is very honored of the award and proud of the successful implementation of the Scissor-project-related technology and its porting to new business sectors.
